Celebrating Winterfest at the Buckeye Lake Historical Society Museum
The museum planned to open at 10:30 Saturday morning, February 6th, for Winterfest. However, there were a number of visitors that came to enjoy the festivities early, so the doors were opened before 10 AM.
Visitors were treated to music, a scavenger hunt or a trivia contest as well as plenty of food and beverages. Docents were also available to speak to our visitors about the history of the area. The offerings included chocolate eclairs, cream puffs, shredded chicken sandwiches, potato salad, various chips, coffee, wine, beer, water and soft drinks. Prizes were awarded to contest winners.
Our log cabin was also featured and included in the scavenger hunt this year. One visitor even stated that they never realized it was a REAL long cabin!
As a special treat, at the event was Mrs. Donna Braig, founder of the Buckeye Lake Historical Society and Museum. She was there for several hours chatting and autographing copies of her books. While there, Donna enjoyed visiting with many guests.
The day wrapped up at 7pm and a good time was had by all.... Brenda B. Bellis
