BOG TOUR

The Greater Buckeye Lake Historical Society and Museum offers tours throughout the season of May through September for groups and individuals wishing to see this wonderful bog for a suggested donation. Call the museum at 740-929-1998 for more information.

$12 Per Person, Children 5 or under Free

The Historical Society will host the OPEN CRANBERRY BOG DAY on Saturday June 16, 2012 at the Buckeye Lake North Shore Boat Launch and State Park. The State park is located on St Rt 79 in the Village of Buckeye Lake.

If you wish to participate in this event you need to contact the Buckeye Lake Museum to reserve your time spot. You can call at 740-929-1998, or email:

The tours begin at 9:00 am and run until 4:00 pm with the boat leaving every ½ hour. The transportation is provided by the Buckeye Lake Museum aboard the Queen of the Lake. Suggested donation for each passenger is $5. This money goes toward the preservation programs for the Ancient Cranberry Bog and its programs.

The Island is protected and visitors must have an access permit to visit. The permit is open to everyone and can be acquired by calling the Buckeye Lake Museum.
