Local Historical Society Puts Buckeye Lake Amusement Park on a Deck of Souvenir Playing Cards.

Buckeye Lake, Ohio November 30, 2007

The Greater Buckeye Lake Historical Society Museum has introduced a deck of playing cards which highlights some of the historical past of the Buckeye Lake Amusement Park. This Historical Society deck brings the collectible side of playing cards to a smaller, local, more personable level.

The Buckeye Lake Amusement Park deck of playing cards takes on the look of years gone by. Covering a span of over 100 years, each card face highlights a photo ranging anywhere from the late 1800's to more recent history. From historical buildings and events to historic figures and other photos that bring out the unique history of Buckeye Lake.

"The face cards are designed the way "souvenir" playing cards used to be printed with round photos, historical facts and fun information on the faces", according to playing card collector and Newt's Playing card owner, James Esteph. "Buckeye Lake's deck is a real beauty. The museum had such a large array of photographs in their collection". This deck holds true to the historical side of "souvenir" playing cards by using 52 (plus 3 wild card) beautiful, Buckeye Lake photographs.

Society President Fred Bair of Thornville said, "These cards are wonderful. Anyone that enjoyed Buckeye Lake during the park days needs to add this to their memorabilia. It will also be a nice source of income for the daily operations of the museum". The Greater Buckeye Lake Historical Society wishes to preserve its past for future generations to see and use. This deck is part of the education and preservation of that history.

Cost is $12 per deck.
